Sustainability is no longer about doing less harm. It’s about doing more good. - Jochen Zeitz-
The Art of Resilience: Vidmal’s Journey
I am Vidmal Herath from Kurunegala. I have loved drawing since childhood, and my grandfather was the first to teach me. Although I did well in my Ordinary Level (O/L) exams, my dream has always been to become one of Sri Lanka’s greatest artists. That is why I chose the Arts stream for my Advanced Level (A/L) exams and earned a place at university.
To begin my journey as an artist, I moved to Colombo to study at the University of Visual and Performing Arts. I am now in my second year. Living alone in Colombo, far from my parents, has been challenging at times. Art supplies are expensive, but I find ways to buy what I need, practice every day, and keep working towards my goal.
