Art has been my greatest passion since I was a child. I stayed involved in art throughout school but soon saw that the center of Sri Lankan art was in Colombo. To continue my studies, I moved from Dambadeniya, a small rural town, to Colombo. From then on, I became determined to become one of Sri Lanka’s best artists. 

When I arrived in Colombo, I was completely on my own. Managing daily expenses alongside the high cost of art supplies such as paints, paper, and brushes was very difficult. Without enough money, life became extremely hard. On top of this, I have speech impairment, which has led to many challenges and discrimination. Still, my one true dream is to overcome these challenges and become a great artist in Sri Lanka.
